Liberalisation of the electricity market is the most important step towards solving the problem with the funding shortage in the National Electricity Company, Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister, Tomislav Donchev, commented duringt the BNT morning programme “The Day Begins” on 12th of June.
He said he expected the liberalisation of the electricity market to become a fact from the beginning of 2016. According to him, the planned increase in the price of electricity for large consumers will not be as drastic as the businesses thought.
Donchev called for more discussions to be held between employers’ organisations and the Energy and Water Regulatory Committee (EWRC) by the end of the month, when EWRC is supposed to adopt the new prices of electricity.
