If we are inclined to consensus, if we are ready to agree, to make compromises, then the period of the negotiations for forming a govenment will be shorter, Volen Siderov, the leader of nationalist Ataka party, a member of the United Patriots coalition, told journalists on 31st of March.
Siderov and the other two leaders of parties from the United Patriots coalition, Valerii Simeonov (NFSB party leader) and Krasimir Karakachanov (IMRO party leader) held a meeting with the leadership of the centre-right GERB party, which won the largest share of votes in the early parliamentary elections.
The meeting was not attended by GERB’s leader, Boyko Borissov.
After the talks they declined to comment exactly what topics were discussed with the first political force.
Siderov and Karakachanov explained that ministerial posts were not discussed. In the words of Ataka leader, negotiations will not be that difficult if the parties put efforts to alleviate them.
The two did not comment on whether they would participate in governance together with the party of the businessman Vesselin Mareshki. No answer was given to the question whether two or three political formation would cooperate in the coalition government.
Negotiations on formation of a new government are yet to be held, Karakachanov said.
