Bulgaria’s Minister of Defence, Todor Tagarev, on June 9, met with the Ambassador of Ukraine, H.E. Olesya Ilashchuk
The two discussed the possibilities of providing humanitarian and military-technical assistance to Ukraine.

"Bulgaria supports the struggle for freedom of the Ukrainian people and the efforts for the restoration of the international legal order, as well as the aspirations for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine. Our country contributes to the European Union's military assistance training mission in Ukraine, EUMAM," Minister Tagarev said during the talks.
"The political leadership of the Ministry of Defence is committed to deepen bilateral defence cooperation," he added.
Minister Tagarev expressed concern about the consequences of the destruction of the wall of the Nova Kakhovka dam. Bulgaria is ready to provide assistance to cope with the he crisis.
H.E. Olesya Ilashchuk expressed gratitude for the humanitarian and military-technical assistance provided by Bulgaria.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Defence, Atanas Zapryanov; Director of the Directorate for Defence Policy and Planning, Brigadier General Radostin Iliev; Director of the Directorate for Logistics, Brigadier General Mitko Grigorov and Defence Attaché of Ukraine, Colonel Dmitry Lukashuk.
