22% more tourists are expected to visit Bulgaria for the Easter holidays in comparison with 2016, the caretaker tourism minister Stella Baltova said in the old capital Veliko Turnovo on 6th of April at the opening of the 14th edition of the international exhibition "Cultural Tourism".
Baltova stressed that the tourists expected to visit the country would be mainly from Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Portugal, adding that bookings for the summer season had already begun. According to forecasts by the Ministry of Tourism, there will be more than 10% increase in the number of tourists to visit Bulgaria’s sea side resorts this year.
Measures have been taken to enhance the security on the beaches. Last but not least, Baltova said the signle system for tourist information, for which a procurement tendering procedure was opened, would be the best tool for tourism business in Bulgaria. Baltova explained the system would connect several data bases, starting from the data base of the Ministry of Tourism, then connecting the hotels. The other connections will be with the revenue agency, Ministry of interior and municipalities.
