Bulgaria’s Parliament adopted amendments to the Civil Registration Act, which provide for restoring the previous Turkish names of deceased citizens, whose names were forcibly changed to Bulgarian names during the Revival Process.
The Parliament managed to secure the needed quorum in the third attempt and proceeded with its work. Before that, two attempts to secure quorum failed as MPs from the centre-left Bulgarian Socialist Party and from the liberal “Movement for Rights and Freedoms” deliberately did not register in the plenary hall.
