Before the start of the forum, Prime Minister Petkov held talks with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi, as well as with Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas.
The Prime Minister briefed the Commissioner on the specific results achieved in just a few days thanks to the new dialogue between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia, the government press service reported.

The Prime Minister also said that he expects progress to be made on human rights reforms with the help of the European Commission, the government press office added.
The rule of law was another focus of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov's meeting with Commissioner Várhelyi. The Prime Minister stressed the consistent policy of the cabinet for zero tolerance towards corruption and for a fundamental reform of the judiciary.
Petkov pointed out that Bulgaria's National Recovery and Resilience Plan also addresses these issues.
In the framework of his meeting with Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kalas, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov noted the friendly ties between Bulgaria and Estonia, the importance of the partnership of the two countries both at bilateral level and within the EU and NATO. In this context, the implementation of bilateral visits was discussed.
