Prosecutor General, Ivan Geshev, on June 5, submitted to the Parliament a request for lifting the immunity of two MPs from "Vazrazhdane" party - Angel Georgiev and Veselin Veshev.
Both of them are accused of causing bodily harm to a police officer out of hooligan motives during a protest in front of the Ministry of Regional Development in 2020. Proceedings against them were suspended in 2021 after one was elected MP in the 47th Parliament and the other was elected a municipal councillor.
