It is organised by the local structures of 'We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria'
Local branches of 'We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria' are also organising a protest in Plovdiv this evening.
Demonstrators gathered at Unification Square. A peaceful march to the Roman Stadium is expected later. This is the final destination approved by the local authorities. Depending on the number of participants, a decision will be taken on the route of the march—either along the main pedestrian street or via the two main boulevards.

The organisers have called for a calm and orderly demonstration and have published guidelines on social media. These include, for example, a ban on wearing masks that cover the face. The protesters are calling for fair elections, which they believe can be ensured through machine voting.

The protests were sparked by the state budget being put back on the agenda. Organisers are also demanding an end to the practice of using public funds to finance security for compromised political figures.
