With 100% of the ballots processed, the Bulgarian Central Election Commission said on 8th of November that the socialist backed candidate Rumen Radev led in the first round of the Presidential elections with 25, 43 % ahead of the centre-right GERB’s candidate Tsetska Tsacheva, who won 21,96 % of the vote.
The Central Election Commission will announce the official results from the elections and national referendum by 21:00 at the latest, on Tuesday, 8th of November, following another processing of the ballots.
With 100% processed ballots, the results of the other candidates are as follows:
Krassimir Karakachanov (United Patriots) 14,96 %
Vesselin Mareshki (nomination committee) 11,17 %
Traicho Traikov (Reformist Bloc) 6,63 %
Plamen Oresharski (nomination committee backed by Movement for Rights and Freedoms) 5,87 %
Ivaylo Kalfin (socialist breakaway ABC party) 3,28 %
Voter turnout at the referendum was 50,59%. In practice, those votes are not enough to make the plebiscite compulsory. 13,000 more votes are needed make results compulsory.
