Shumen district declared an influenza epidemic from 31 January, 2024 to 7 February, 2024.
The registered incidence of influenza and acute respiratory diseases is 269 per 10,000 people. The order on the introduction of temporary anti-epidemic measures will be sent to the Ministry of Health for coordination.
No school closures are planned for the time being, the Shumen Regional Health Inspectorate said on January 29.
Elective consultations for children and healthy pregnant women, routine medical checkups and compulsory immunisation and reimmunisation procedures have will be suspended. Visits to health and social care facilities are also ssuspended.
A daily screening will be applied in childcare facilities for sick children and staff.
