The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) on June 8 terminated the procedure on the first motion for early dismissal of the Prosecutor General, Ivan Geshev. Thus, only the second motion remains for discussion.
The 6 members of the Prosecutors’ College of the Supreme Judicial Council who submitted the first motion, today withdrew it. They motivated the withdrawal with a ruling by a prosecutor from Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office. It establishes that there is no evidence of interference and influence on the investigators of the explosion against a car in which the Prosecutor General was travelling on 1 May, and the Israeli expert was not allowed to the scene where the investigative actions took place.
