Tvardishki pass re-opened to traffic, the Road Infrastructure Agency announced on November 27.
The suspension of traffic through the pass was necessitated because of a crash between two lorries that entered the pass despite the sign for the restriction of traffic of lorries weighing more than 10 tonnes.
Tvardishki pass connects the towns of Elena and Tvarditsa across the Stara Planina mountain range, providing the shortest road link between northern and southern Bulgaria.
Troyan Pass remains closed to all types of vehicles. The pass is situated in the Balkan Mountains (Stara Planina) and is on one of the main roads connecting northern and southern Bulgaria.
