About 550 agents from the Bulgarian State Agency for National Security (SANS) become Ministry of Interior (MoI) employees. The amendments to the laws of the Ministry of interior and SANS come into force on 24th of February and result in moving the Chief Directorate “Combating Organized Crime” from SANS back to the structure of the Interior Ministry.
Bulgaria’s Minister of interior, Vesselin Vouchkov, will request the government to increase the complement of the MoI from 49,000 to 50,200 employees. The changes in the law have resulted in changes in some of the senior posts. The current director of Criminal Police, Konstantin Tityanov, has submitted resignation. New directors were appointed of the National Police and the chief directorate for combating organized crime.
