AN INTERACTIVE MAP SHOWING BIRTHS OF BULGARIAN BABIES ABROAD

A map of the Bulgarian babies born abroad was created by the Bulgarian blogger Boyan Yurukov. His study shows that between 2004 and 2013, over 96,000 Bulgarian children were born in foreign countries and subsequently were issued a Bulgarian birth certificate.

For 60 seconds, the map shows the countries all over the world, where Bulgarian babies were born in the recent 10 years.

“This map is my favourite for several reasons”, Boyan Yurukov says. “The first reason is it shows information which is not available anywhere else in the public domain. Another reason is that it is not entirely statistical and the third reason is how I created it”, he explains. “The last one is it simply looks cool”, Yurukov adds.
