Finance Minister, Asen Vassilev, said that there was a very fruitful cooperation with the Greek Minister of State, Stavros Papastavrou, after bilateral talks that took place in Sofia on January 29.
He explained that Athens is a firm supporter of Bulgaria's Schengen accession, expecting it to happen in 2025.
"It is a great honour for me to accept Minister Vassilev's invitation. The meeting is a continuation of the meeting of the two Prime Ministers Denkov and Mitsotakis last October, which deepened our relations. Bulgarian-Greek relations are pillars of security in a volatile environment. In addition, we promote cooperation in energy and the 8th corridor. In this way, we are opening up new corridors for connectivity. This strengthens the infrastructure on the continent. I believe in the potential of the relationship between Bulgaria and Greece," Stavros Papastavrou said.
