Undeclared currency to the amount of over 1,300.000 BGN was seized by the Bulgarian customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo check point at the border with Turkey on 3rd of February.
The currency was in dollars and euro and was concealed in the cabin of a lorry with Polish registration.
The driver was a Polish citizen transporting laundry detergents from Poland to Turkey, for which he presented regular documents.
The lorry was selected for a thorough examination by customs officers from the Anti-Drug Trafficking department.
During the inspection they found over 750,000 dollars and 6,500 euro.
Preliminary investigation on the case has been initiated.
