European Chief Prosecutor, Laura Kövesi, on December 3 met Bulgaria’s Minister of Justice, Georgi Georgiev, during her visit to Sofia.
The bilateral meeting took place at the Ministry of Justice and is part of Kövesi’s visit to Bulgaria for the opening of a standalone office of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) in the country.
Minister Georgiev briefed the European Chief Prosecutor on the procedure launched to select Bulgaria’s representative to the institution.
The two also discussed forthcoming legislative amendments related to the investigation of offences involving financial misconduct.
