Bulgarian railways provides extra seats and train services for visitors of “Surva” Mummers Festival

The Bulgarian railways company, BDZ, will provide additional trains and seats in the regular trains passing through Pernik station on Saturday and Sunday, January 27th and 28th.

The company will add extra carriages and coaches to the trains to ensure the convenience of all those who wish to visit the International Mummers Festival "Surva", which will be held in the town of Pernik in the period 26 - 28 January 2024.

Those wishing to travel to the festival will be able to choose between 21 trains per day.

In order to ensure the comfortable travel of its customers, the national railway carrier will provide additional train services between Sofia and Pernik.

The following five trains will provide extra services:

• Suburban passenger train No. 50273 from Sofia to Pernik, which departs from Sofia Central Station at 11:35 a.m. and arrives in Pernik at 12:23 p.m.;
• Suburban passenger train No. 50270 from Pernik to Sofia, which departs from Pernik at 12:40 p.m. and arrives in Sofia at 1:30 p.m.;
• Suburban passenger train No. 50275 from Sofia to Pernik, which departs from Sofia Central Station at 1:45 p.m. and arrives in Pernik at 2:39 p.m.;
• Suburban passenger train No. 50272 from Pernik to Sofia, which departs from Pernik at 2:50 p.m. and arrives in Sofia at 3:43 p.m.;
• Regional passenger train No. 50282 from Pernik to Sofia, which departs from Pernik at 4:45 p.m. and arrives in Sofia at 5:43 p.m.;

Additional seats will be provided to the following trains:

• Fast train No. 5611 from Sofia to Petrich, which departs from Sofia Central Station at 07:30 a.m. and arrives in Pernik at 08:24 a.m., will travel with 1 additional car to its regular composition;
• The fast train No. 6621 from Sofia to Kyustendil, which departs from Sofia at 08:30 and arrives in Pernik at 09:22, will run with a doubled capacity of 2 diesel locomotives;
• Fast train No. 5613 from Sofia to Petrich, which departs from Sofia at 12:35 and arrives in Pernik at 1:16 p.m., will travel with a doubled capacity of 2 electric locomotives in the section from Sofia to Pernik;
• The fast train No. 5616 from Petrich to Sofia, which departs from Pernik at 17:14 and arrives in Sofia at 18:07, will also run with 1 additional carriage to its regular composition;
• Fast train No. 6622 from Kyustendil to Sofia, which departs from Pernik at 8:20 p.m. and arrives in Sofia at 9:07 p.m., will travel with a doubled capacity of 2 diesel locomotives;
• Suburban passenger train No. 50111 from Sofia to Blagoevgrad, which departs from Sofia Central Station at 05:25 a.m. and arrives in Pernik at 06:24 a.m., will run with 1 electric locomotive with a larger capacity;
• Suburban passenger train No. 50203 from Sofia to Pernik, which departs from Sofia Central Station at 09:30 a.m. and arrives in Pernik at 10:21 a.m., will travel with a doubled capacity of 2 electric locomotives;
• Suburban passenger train No. 50113 from Sofia to Blagoevgrad, which departs from Sofia at 10:20 a.m. and arrives in Pernik at 11:09 a.m., will run with an increased capacity of 2 electric locomotives in the section from Sofia to Pernik;
• Suburban passenger train No. 50208 from Pernik to Sofia, which departs from Pernik at 10:35 a.m. and arrives in Sofia at 11:30 a.m., will travel with 3 electric locomotives;
• Suburban passenger train No. 50110 from Blagoevgrad to Sofia, which departs from Pernik at 11:38 a.m. and arrives in Sofia at 12:31 p.m., will run with an increased capacity of 2 electric locomotives in the section from Pernik to Sofia;
• Suburban passenger train No. 50231 from Sofia to Dupnitsa, which departs from Sofia Central Station at 2:40 p.m. and arrives in Pernik at 3:35 p.m., will travel with an increased capacity of 2 electric locomotives in the section from Sofia to Pernik;
• Suburban passenger train No. 50205 from Sofia to Radomir, which departs from Sofia at 4:05 p.m. and arrives in Pernik at 4:54 p.m., will run with a doubled capacity of 2 electric locomotives;
• Suburban passenger train No. 50210 from Radomir to Sofia, which departs from Pernik at 5:48 p.m. and arrives in Sofia at 6:47 p.m., will travel with a doubled capacity of 2 electric locomotives.

The price of a ticket for a trip from Sofia to Pernik is BGN 2.30. Holders of railway cards enjoy a discount from the final price, and for these customers the ticket costs BGN 1.35.

"BDZ - Passenger Transport" also offers one-day cards for unlimited travel between Sofia and Pernik within one day. The price of the card is BGN 4.
