Bulgaria expresses concern over what is happening in the Republic of Macedonia and extends condolences to relatives of the victims in Kumanovo.
What matters most for Bulgaria is the stability and territorial integrity of Macedonia, Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said. We do not want to see Macedonia in a condition in which it was before the Ohrid agreement, he added. Our appeal is that the government and the opposition in Macedonia restore their dialogue and find a solution to the political crisis, which requires the assumption of political responsibility, Mitov said.
The Council also discussed the risks for Bulgaria, one of which is the possibility that terrorist groups may cross the border.
