A student from the coastal city of Burgas won a medal at the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad in Singapore, the Mayor of the city, Dimitar Nikolov, wrote on in his Facebook profile.
Panayot Dimitrov is in 11th grade and studies at the High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences "Akademik Nikola Obreshkov" in Burgas. At the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad, which was held on Saturday, he won a bronze medal in the 11-12 grade category, in the face of huge competition.
More than 1,000 students from Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Uzbekistan, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka participated in the Olympiad in Singapore.
