Public service broadcasters in Bulgaria continue to have their important role on the media market, said the Director General of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Ingrid Deltenre. In a meeting with Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and the Chairperson of the National Assembly on 26th of January, she discussed the future of public service media in the new digital environment.
Public service broadcasters’ role is more important than ever, especially in times of crisis and change, Ingrid Deltenre said. On the other hand, public service broadcasters’ role is vital because they are independent, offer good programmes and are a trusted source of information for the viewers, she added.
