Enhanced control over police body-worn cameras in Burgras

The control of the permanent use of body-worn cameras during the work of police officers in Burgas has been strengthened.

The purpose of the devices is to ensure the personal safety of law enforcement officers, as well as to enable control over police actions.

The recording device will be placed on the senior police officer in each patrol, and will be switched on when a signal is received after the team arrives at the specific location.

The actions of police officers can also be monitored in real time.

"They are constantly online, but recording of specific actions takes place when officers are dispatched to a signal and they have to take specific actions to address the signal. When a crime is detected and when persons and vehicles are checked, it is mandatory that this check must be done within the reach of the camera," said Commissioner Marin Dimitrov, head of the Security Police Department in Burgas.
