Firefighters, employees of cultural departments and representatives of the Union of Transport Trade Unions of CITUB on February 23 are protesting against the funds earmarked for them in this year's budget, as well as the lack of an increase in their salaries.
"You know, inflation eats up part of the income and this is in no way foreseen in the update of the major services and not only in the field of culture, the fire brigade and the security sector, but also in all state budget structures in Bulgaria," said the chairman of the CITUB strike committee, Todor Kapitanov.
"There should be a change. Specifically for the Ministry of Interior it was stated - "money in exchange of reform". Ordinary employees cannot make reform," said Stanimir Milanov, a member of the Firefighters and Rescuers Trade Union's Board.
"800 - 849 BGN for specialists of the rank of world-class restorers. They work with the same works of art as our colleagues at the Louvre," said Mariela Malamatenova, curator at the National Gallery.
On the sidelines of the Parliament, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov confirmed his position that a salary increase for the state workers is expected in the middle of the year after the budget update and after the necessary reforms.
