The campaign to immunize senior citizens against influenza, as well as to administer the new vaccine against COVID-19, begins on September 27.
This winter, doctors are predicting a triple epidemic of flu, Covid-19 and respiratory viruses, with the first cases expected as early as November.
The state has provided more than 370,000 free-of-charge flu vaccines under the National Programme for adults aged 65 and over.
The vaccines delivered to the country against Covid-19 are against one variant of the virus. Anyone can have one dose and is assumed to be fully protected against the new variant.
The new COVID-19 vaccines arrived in Bulgaria
Those who have been previously vaccinated should receive the shot three months after the previous dose, the health ministry explained.
