Man Detained for Distributing Pornography Online

The Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office has charged and detained a 55-year-old man for possessing and distributing pornographic material on the internet.

Evidence collected so far indicates that between 29 November and 2 December 2025, in Sofia, the accused, D.K., committed three separate offences as part of a continuous crime. He distributed pornographic material featuring underage individuals to up to three users via a mobile application.

Authorities also found that the suspect stored numerous images on his phone depicting explicit sexual activity.

A pre-trial investigation has been opened for crimes under Article 159, Paragraph 4, in conjunction with Paragraph 2 and Article 26, Paragraph 1 of the Penal Code, and Article 159, Paragraph 6, which carry imprisonment and fines.

Following a prosecutor’s order, D.K. has been detained for up to 72 hours.

The prosecutor will soon submit a request to the Sofia District Court to impose a pre-trial detention order on the accused.
