The new wave of refugees has already started, says Bulgaria’s State Agency for Refugees on 29th of September. The asylum seekers who arrived in Bulgaria In September were 1,088 which is twice as much as the ones who crossed the border in June.
For the time being, the refugee camps in Bulgaria have the capacity to accommodate more people as there are 6,000 places altogether. The agency for refugees however warns that this capacity can be quickly filled in, if the increased influx continues.
The trend of refugees to accept Bulgaria as a transit zone to the way to Western Europe remains unchanged. That is why very few refugees would look for a job in Bulgaria, the Unemployment Office commented.
