After nearly 4 hours of discussions on 13th of November, the Ad Hoc Committee on Budget and Finance of the Bulgarian Parliament approved the government’s proposal for revision of the 2014 budget. The Committee members also voted to increase the budget of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).
The draft law envisages the budget deficit to raise to 3,7% of GDP or to 2.992 billion BGN . This amount includes the planned and unplanned deficit (2,4 billion BGN), additional expenditures for the first and second level spending units (278.9 million BGN), the deficit in the National fund (about 200 million BGN) and additional 100 million BGN for the NHIF.
