On 1st of October, Bulgaria’s President Rosen Plevneliev awarded the highest state honour - the Order of Stara Planina, I degree - to the former ambassadors of Germany and France to Bulgaria – Matthias Hoepfner and Philippe Autie.
They became especially popular for their support to the civil protests in Bulgaria. The awarded honours are a recognition for the two ambassadors’ contribution to the development of the bilateral relations.
The President said that the high state honour to H.E. Hoepfner and H.E. Autie was a symbol of what they had personally done for Bulgaria and Europe as a whole.
