The film tells a story about the centenary of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire - an event that is widely acknowledged to have sparked the outbreak of World War I.
Did we learn the lessons of history? Is it possible the division of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Europe’s problems to create a background, against which the ghosts from the past may return?
The documentary features the Serbian poet Gavrilo Mile Princip, a descendant of the archduke's assassin Gavrilo Princip, Karl von Habsburg - a descendant of assassinated Franz Ferdinand, the historians Vera Kac from Sarajevo and Oliver Schmitt from Vienna, the scientists Rüdiger Schmitt, Antonio Panaino, Velizar Sadovski and Laura Massetti, the sociologist Nerzuk Churak and the journalist Slobodan Staic from Sarajevo.
