Six members of the Prosecutors’ College of the Supreme Judicial Council on May 12 submitted a proposal for early termination of the term of office of Prosecutor General, Ivan Geshev, to the registry department of the Supreme Judicial Council.
In the proposal, they cite as a motive the Prosecutor General’s interference in the investigation of the explosion that took place next to his car. They find grounds for this in Deputy Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov's claims that an expert on counter-terrorism from Israel was sent on the oral orders of the Prosecutor General during the inspection.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov submitted a request for dismissal of Yassen Todorov from the post of Deputy Director of the National Investigative Service (NIS). His proposal has been addressed to the Prosecutors’ College of the SJC.
