Sofia police are taking measures to ensure security at Wednesday's protest. The director of the SDVR said that at this stage only one protest has been declared and coordinated. It is in the Triangle of Power and no procession is planned.
Lyubomir Nikolov also commented that the aim of the police is to prevent the entry of provocateurs among the people who will protest peacefully.
The Sofia police are introducing measures to ensure security during Wednesday’s protest. The head of the Sofia Directorate of the Interior (SDVR) pon December 8 said that, at this stage, only one protest has been formally notified and approved. It will take place in the so-called “triangle of power”, with no march planned.
Lyubomir Nikolov added that the police’s main objective is to prevent provocateurs from infiltrating the crowds of peaceful demonstrators.

“We are gathering all operational information available to us regarding the possible appearance of individuals who provoke police officers — people who throw various objects at them. We are focusing on three points: removing such individuals before the protest; today and tomorrow, identifying those preparing to depart from different neighbourhoods of Sofia and distinguishing them from peaceful protesters so that they can be intercepted before reaching the protest; and, of course, during the protest itself through the establishment of checkpoint controls.”
