Tackling the war on the roads is a priority not only for the Ministry of the Interior, but for the whole government, Minister Kalin Stoyanov said on June 20 after a meeting with parents of children killed in accidents. During the talks, Stoyanov said he was angry at what was happening and pledged to look into each case in detail.
The distraught parents are demanding that the refusal of taking a drug and alcohol test by motorists be criminalised and that in the case of a death on the road and speeding three times over the legal limit, the offense not be negligent homicide, as it currently is.
