Code yellow for dangerously hot weather remains in force in much of the country on July 24. The temperatures are expected to reach 37-38°; in Sofia - about 33°, slightly lower will be on the Black Sea coast.
The hottest day of the week is expected to be tomorrow, July 25. A second degree warning, code orange, will be in effect for almost the entire country, for temperatures forecast to reach around and above 40° per Celsius. Code red will be in effect for July 25 for central northern areas, for temperatures up to 42°.
It will remain sunny. South winds will increase and be up to moderate. The maximum temperature in Sofia will be around 37°.
It will also be sunny along the Black Sea coast, combined with a moderate southeasterly wind. Maximum temperatures will be from 27° in the northern regions, to about 33° in the Burgas area. The sea water temperature is 24 - 26°.
In the mountains it will be sunny. After noon only in isolated places, mainly in the Rhodopes, it will rain.
Moderate, temporarily strong southwest wind will blow in the highest parts. Maximum temperatures - from 28° in Aleko to 31° in Pamporovo, in Bansko - 34°.
Late afternoon on Wednesday and overnight on Thursday, with the passage of a well-defined cold front, temperatures will drop rapidly and noticeably. Showers and thunderstorms are expected, temporarily intense in some areas, and there will be hail. On Thursday it will remain windy, in the eastern and mountainous regions it will rain and thunder. Temperatures across the country will drop and the maximum will be between 25° and 30°.
