RIA points out that motorists need to drive with caution and at a reasonable speed
Temporary changes to traffic organisation will be introduced on sections of the Struma Motorway in the district of Kyustendil (Southern Bulgaria) on 11 and 12 December, the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) has announced.
On Thursday and Friday, between 08:00 and 17:00, traffic in the overtaking lane between km 37 and km 56 in the direction of Sofia will be gradually restricted, with vehicles diverted to the driving lane. According to RIA, the measure is necessary for geodetic surveys ahead of planned repairs to the asphalt surface.
On 12 December, from 08:00 to 15:00 at km 68 in the Sofia-bound carriageway, traffic in the driving lane and access to the emergency lane will be temporarily restricted due to warranty repairs on a bridge joint. Vehicles will pass through the overtaking lane.
RIA urges drivers to proceed with caution, maintain appropriate speed and strictly follow the temporary traffic signage. Information on current road conditions is available on the RIA website and via the 24-hour hotline 0700 130 20.
Traffic at km 88 of Struma Motorway, also in the direction of Sofia, is currently limited to a single lane.
