Bulgaria’s state has arranged representatives of all relevant government institutions to introduce the newly appointed receivers in Corporate Commercial Bank. On 27th of March, they started work in the head office of the bank, accompanied by Bulgaria’s Finance Minister, Vladislav Goranov, the Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Borislav Sarafov, the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Georgi Kostov and the Head of the Bulgarian Deposit Insurance Fund, Radoslav Milenkov.
Vladislav Goranov explained the powerful state presence in the bank with the determination of the state to protect the bank's property from 'plundering'.
Goranov and Sarafov rejected the assertion that this action was late. Goranov said that the two receivers, Rosen Angelchev and Lazar Iliev, can rely on the assistance of all government agencies.
The Deputy Chief Prosecutor emphasized that the Prosecutor’s Office would closely monitor the work of the receivers. If any violations are identified such as dissipation of assets, transfer of assets to ‘fronts’, it will not hesitate to initiate penal proceedings and press charges, he added.
