Three people were killed and two injured in a serious road accident on the Lovech - Pleven road (Northern-Central Bulgaria), the Regional Directorate (RD) of the Ministry of Interior in Lovech said on August 8.
A 22-year-old driver of a passenger car, travelling in the direction of Lovech, on a wet road surface and on a right curve, entered the oncoming lane and collided with a car travelling towards Pleven, driven by a 32-year-old Pleven resident.
As a result of the accident, the Pleven resident and two passengers of the other car, a man and a woman, aged 32 and 21, died on the spot. The driver of the other car and a 20-year-old female passenger from the same vehicle were taken to hospital in serious condition, the Lovech police said.
A pre-trial investigation has been opened. Work on the case continues under the guidance of the Lovech District Prosecutor's Office.
