TZVETAN VASSILEV: A BANK RUN WAS ORGANISED AGAINST CORPBANK WITH THE INVOLVEMENT OF GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS

In a new statement addressed to the media on 23rd of September, the majority shareholder of Corporate Commercial Bank, Tzvetan Vassilev, announced that the bank run against CorpBank was organized with the involvement of government institutions.

Vassilev claims that he has irrefutable evidence to prove that clients of the bank were manipulated and blackmailed with the purpose of withdrawing their money, creating artificial panic and coordinated withdrawal of the deposits of the state-owned enterprises. “No doubt the purpose was to make the bank bankrupt, at any cost, and the organisers of the bank run to acquire some of the attractive assets at a very low price”, Vassilev says and adds that these were assets he refused to provide a month before the attack because he wanted to keep the viability of the bank and the security of the depositors.

The majority shareholder describes the rescue of Corporate Commercial Bank as the “mission of his life”.
