'MRF-New Beginning' Leader Delyan Peevski: 'We Will Not Allow Anarchy and Chaos to Take Over Bulgaria'

We will not allow anarchy and chaos to take over Bulgaria, Delyan Peevski, leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and the parliamentary group “MRF – New Beginning”, said in a post on Facebook on December 1. He also directed criticism at President Rumen Radev.

“Radev has revealed his true face! We will not allow anarchy and chaos to take over Bulgaria!

Rumen Radev – the real organiser of the riots, arson and chaos – has shown his true face!
Is this what you want for Bulgaria, Mr Radev? Chaos, disorder, lawlessness and anarchy? And at what price – the country’s democracy and peace?

You and "We Continue the Change–Democratic Bulgaria" have used young people! And they will not forgive you for this.
The escalation provoked by your groups, organised and led by your associates Koprinkov, Uzunov and your oligarch allies, is driving the country towards anarchy!
All of this just to trigger elections and seize power through bloodshed!

You won't get any of this by trampling over the people! They will not allow it!

And we in the MRF will not be broken by your aggression! By all democratic means, we will defend the rights of all Bulgarian citizens – including their right to a free and democratic vote! And we will not back down from this responsibility!”

Tensions Rise During Protest Outside “MRF – New Beginning” Headquarters

Earlier in the evening, President Radev wrote on Facebook that this is not a clash between police and protesters, but a provocation by the mafia which aims to confront. According to him, the only way out is the government’s resignation and early elections.
