A fragment of the Bulgarian folklore song “Izlel ye Delyo Haidutin” performed by the famous Bulgarian folk singer, Valya Balkanska, has been included in the soundtrack of the blockbuster Hollywood production “Tomorrow land”.
However it transpired the fragment of the song was used without the singer’s knowledge.
This is not the first time the song sounds in foreign movies without the prior consent of Valya Balkanska. Five years ago, the song was included in an American film about the war in Afghanistan.
In 1977, Valya Balkanska’s performance of “Izlel ye Delyo Haiudutin” was included in the Voyager Golden Record - a diverse compilation of Earth music, carried on board of Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 probes..
