The Bulgarian Railway Company, "BDZ - Passenger Transport" EOOD, will provide additional 22,000 seats due to the expected increased interest in train travel during the upcoming holidays - the International Labour Day - 1 May and St. George's Day - 6 May, BDZ said on 27th of April.
The company will add extra carriages to trains travelling along the main routes in the country to ensure the comfortable trip of the passengers during the holiday period.
From today, 27th of April to 9th of May including, the national railway carrier BDZ, will provide additional seats to train services on the following routes:
For customers who prefer to purchase tickets for their journey from the ticket offices, a pre-sale for seats on all fast trains that will travel during the holiday period is underway.
The usual pre-sale period for tickets for seats at the ticket offices is 5 days, but BDZ has the practice of extending this period in cases where longer festive periods are to take place. In this way, service users are given the opportunity to plan their journeys in advance, as well as to purchase a ticket and seat reservation for their preferred train in a timely manner, the railway company said.
BDZ customers can also purchase tickets for their journey online, with the system allowing 30 days advance sale. The online rail ticketing system is available on BDZ's official website - www.bdz.bg, as well as electronic address: bileti.bdz.bg.
When purchasing return tickets, a 10% to 20% discount on the regular price is available, depending on the company's various discount offers, the company reminds.
