A fire in an ERM West cable collector on December 1 led to the shutdown of 15 medium-voltage feeders supplying parts of central Sofia.
Alerts have been submitted to the fire service and the police. Ventilation of the facility is awaited so that the cause can be established and power restoration along alternative routes can begin immediately

Later this evening, Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov announced in a Facebook post that an inspection had begun, as there were suspicions of deliberate interference and vandalism. The Energy Ministry, ERM West and the Ministery of Interior are working to bring the situation under control, ensure a safe environment for on-site teams, and restore electricity supply via an alternative scheme. All available teams are working to restore power supply as quickly as possible, Stankov added.
