Ivan Geshev, who was dismissed early from the post of Prosecutor General, resigned as prosecutor, he announced in a post on social media networks on June 19.
"Political problems are solved by political means. Today I promise you only one thing - to continue the fight for truth and justice in our country," Geshev wrote.
In his post, he also says that the country is being subjected to unprecedented pressure and gross interference in the work of the judiciary in order to be used for repression.
"We even found ourselves in the paradoxical situation of having two chief prosecutors at one point even before the decree on my dismissal was formally promulgated.
Clearly, fear is great and the timetable of the deep state and the backstage must be met at the cost of anything. In an attempt to block our work on key and particularly sensitive cases for the state, the forces of darkness, as I call them, have taken a series of actions characteristic of authoritarian and mafia regimes!", Geshev wrote.
This is his first comment after the decision of the Supreme Judicial Council on his early dismissal from the post.
