Eight Ambulances Deployed During Sofia Protest, Emergency Service Says
Eight ambulances were on the ground during the protest in Sofia, the spokesperson for the Emergency Medical Service, Katya Sungarska, said. She noted that it was not possible to specify how many people had sought emergency assistance, as the situation remained “dynamic”, but there was no information about anyone being seriously injured.
“The situation is very dynamic. I would mislead you if I gave a precise figure. There are several people who have been taken to hospital by emergency teams. The teams are examining everyone who reports discomfort or any other issue,” Sungarska explained.
She also made clear that there were no seriously injured individuals at the protest:
“I have no information about anyone being severely injured or in a life-threatening condition. I believe there are no serious casualties… As far as I understand, there are some cases of trauma from blows, perhaps, or from being hit with objects,” Sungarska said.
