The number of victims after the floods in Varna, the largest Black Sea city, rose to 11. On 20th June, fishermen found the body of a drowned woman.
The flood nightmare in Varna started on 19th June when a surge from the downpouring rains flooded the city and swept away everything in its path.The flooding destroyed houses and swept away cars. 11 victims including two children have been reported by the police.
Many people found sanctuary on the roofs of their homes whilst others spent the night in the open out of fear that their homes would collapse due to cracked supporting walls.
Teams of Civil Protection Service, the military units and the municipality are taking part in pumping the water away and clearing the debris.
