Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš on September 16 arrived in Bulgaria for an official visit at the invitation of Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev.

In the Marble Hall of the Council of Ministers, Andrej Babiš and Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev are expected to address key issues on the European agenda outlined in Ursula von der Leyen’s speech.

Babiš was officially welcomed by Prime Minister Rumen Radev in front of the Monument to the Unknown Soldier, after which the two prime ministers travelled to the Council of Ministers for a one-to-one meeting. Talks between the two delegations are also due to take place.

At a meeting with representatives of the transport sector yesterday, the prime minister said that one of Bulgaria’s key priorities was to become an important transport corridor linking Europe, Asia and the Balkans. Further announcements are therefore expected on this issue, as well as on Saudi Arabia’s announcement that it will reduce crude oil supplies to Europe.

Later, the two prime ministers will also open a business forum, where bilateral agreements are expected to be signed.
