Position of the leader of "We Continue the Change" Assen Vassilev:
“You saw that the protest ended peacefully, after which a march set off towards the headquarters of MRF and then towards the headquarters of GERB, where we are now. After the march passed by the MRF headquarters, provocateurs appeared. There was a clash with the police, including the use of tear gas, as far as I have been informed.
“The other thing we learned — and the reason the route of the march was changed — is that Vasil Levski Boulevard, along its entire stretch from Sofia University to the NDK park, was left without lighting. Why? You should ask the Ministry of Interior. This was meant to be part of the route for the march to arrive here. It was left in darkness and there were groups of agitators on the streets. This is utterly unacceptable.
“Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov’s resignation must be submitted this very evening, because he has allowed football-style gangs to assault police officers during what had been a peaceful protest and a peaceful march.”
