An avalanche buried a group of Greek skiers and snowboarders in Borovets winter resort on February 12. One person is missing.
The avalanche hit this afternoon in the area of Markujik 3 in Borovets.
Several have managed to dig themselves out, but one person remains buried under the snow. The incident was reported to the Mountain Rescue Service at around 14:13 by a witness from the group. They still don't have exact information on how many people were in the area, but most likely they were four Greeks.
Over 15 mountain rescuers with 4 dogs are searching for the man under the snow. The avalanche was about 150 meters in size and nearly 30 meters wide.
The Mountain Rescue Service warned tourists and skiers to avoid the northern, northeastern and eastern slopes where there are snowdrifts.
