The met office has warned of a cool down today, July 27, and despite the record setting high temperature in recent days, it snowed on Musala peak this morning. This was reported on his Facebook account by Rosen Dimitrov from National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology, who is an observer at the weather station on the summit.

Musala is the highest mountain peak in Bulgaria. It is located in Rila mountains, southwestern Bulgaria. At 2,925 meters (9,596 feet) above sea level, Musala Peak is not only the highest peak in Bulgaria, but also the highest point in the Balkan Peninsula.
