Over 40 illegal migrants have been detained in the "Suhata Reka" residential district in Sofia on July 20.
The migrants were found in a bus on a street, with the vehicle believed to have been abandoned.
The migrants are mainly Afghans, among them there are children. The director of the "Border Police", Anton Zlatanov, commented on the case:
"Every day, illegal migrants are detained inside the country as well as at the border. In most cases, this is according to our information, received from the border. We have different methods, whether to detain them on the spot or a little later. The percentage of migrants who enter the interior of the country is quite small compared to those who are not allowed at the fence (at the border). On this one day alone, more than 800 were prevented from entering."
