A loud rumble startled the residents of Northwest Bulgaria late in the evening on July 11. Dozens of posts appeared on social media where people discussed what they heard. Some also said there was a bright light.
Minutes before 22:00, a rumble was heard on the territory of Vidin region, the Ministry of Interior reported. Teams of the Vidin police department were immediately dispatched to the area and inspected.
There were no reports of injured people or material damage. According to data from the Romanian authorities, it was a meteorite that exploded in the air.
